Head of Kelapa Island Urban Village, Muhammad Adriansyah said a petai cina tree about 18 meters tall fell during heavy rain accompanied by strong winds.

"After receiving the report, we immediately moved quickly to carry out an evacuation," he said, Tuesday (1/13).

He added that his side also pruned a number of trees that were deemed to have the potential to endanger the safety of residents.

"We want to ensure that the safety of residents is maintained ," he added.

He appealed to residents to actively report if they find trees that are likely to fall in their areas so that immediate action can be taken.
