The Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) operates 13 new disability-friendly school buses. This is a concrete step in strengthening inclusive transportation services for students with disabilities.

The buses are specially designed to ensure easier, safer, and more comfortable access to education for all students with disabilities.
Jakarta Dishub Head, Syafrin said, this new fleet procurement is a continuation of the five previous buses that have been operating. Hence, the total fleet of Disability-Friendly School Buses now reaches 18 units.
This microbus model is prepared to meet the daily mobility needs of students, especially for their commute to and from school.
"Providing disability-friendly transportation is a form of the government's commitment to creating an inclusive city," he expressed, Friday (12/12).
Currently, the school bus serves six Special Schools (SLB) namely SLBN 9 Sunter, SLB Karya Guna, SLBN 8 Rorotan, SLB Pembina, Cleft Children Foundation (YPAC), and SLBN 01.
According to him, the additional this service route can reach more students who need special transportation support.
"Expanding service reach becomes a priority so that all students have equal educational opportunities," he explained.
Each bus has special facilities, such as a hydraulic lift for wheelchairs, guiding blocks, safety sensor cameras, and voice guidance for visually impaired students.
This facility is provided to ensure the safety and comfort of students during the journey.
He added, every detail in the bus design considers the needs of users, thus the bus can be optimally used by all students with various disabilities.
"By so, inclusive transportation services in Jakarta are increasing, and it can support the productivity, mobility, and learning enthusiasm of students with disabilities," he closed.
