Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung and Deputy Governor, Rano Karno launched the Christmas Carol Collosal kick off at Hotel Indonesia Roundabout, Central Jakarta, Thursday (12/11).

Pramono hoped that this activity would become a symbol of religious harmony in Jakarta.

"We're starting a new tradition. Jakarta will hold what's known as the Colossal Christmas Carol, starting at the Hotel Indonesia Roundabout. Hopefully, this signifies that religious harmony in Jakarta is always well-maintained," said Pramono.

Pramono also invited all people to rejoice and be grateful for the sense of security and comfort that has been realized in Jakarta.

He also invited to pray for the people who were victims of the disasters in Aceh, North Sumatra, Padang, and the fire disaster in Jakarta.

"Christmas Carol Colossal is officially started," he added.

Chairman of the Jakarta Provincial Government Christmas Committee, Michael Rolandi explained this kick-off marks the opening of a series of Christmas activities by the Jakarta Provincial Government which will continue until its peak at the worship celebration on January 9, 2026.

Christmas Carol Colosal is held up to December 23, 2025 from 4 PM to 5:30 PM at 10 locations namely HI Roundabout, Sarinah, Literasi Park, Terowongan Kendal, and so on.

This event also involved 100 performers from churches, orphanages, and other community elements.

"The Christmas service and celebration at JIExpo will be the highlight of the celebrations. The Governor is scheduled to attend, with 14,000 congregants expected," he explained.

Jakarta Provincial Government will also present other activities namely Christmas Market at Blok M Hub, Christmas Creative Market at Lapangan Banteng, and up to Christmas decoration competition in shopping centers and hotels.

"There will be the Jakarta Light Festival from December 23 to 27 at HI Roundabout, enlivened by 19 Christmas ornaments," he stated.
