Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung visited the shophouse fire incident on Jalan Letjen Suprapto, Cempaka Baru, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, Tuesday (12/9).

The fire at the shophouse belonging to PT Terra Drone which occurred at 12.00 PM, resulted in 22 victims consisting of 15 women and seven men who died, and two people were injured.

Governor Pramono emphasized that the Jakarta Provincial Government will cover all funeral and medical costs.

"I already contacted Head of City Park and Forestry Agency to prepare the graves. Injured victims are also the responsibility of the Jakarta Provincial Government," he said.

Jakarta Provincial Government, Pramono continued, asked anyone with a similar business to prioritize worker safety.

"This shows that the sixth floor of this building is not prepared for evacuation routes and so on," he stated.
