The Jakarta government received two awards at the Regional Government Performance Appreciation 2025 event organized by the Home Ministry (Kemendagri).

Strengthen the legitimacy of regional heads

Jakarta recorded the highest scores in two categories, namely Improvement of Education Service Access and Governance Performance of Provincial-Level Regional Governments.

City Secretary Government Assistant, Sigit Wijatmoko, representing Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung, received the award directly from Home Minister, Tito Karnavian.

He conveyed that this achievement serves as motivation for the Jakarta government to continue improving the quality of public services.

"Alhamdulillah (thank God), Jakarta achieved two categories in the fields of education and government administration. We're committed to building an inclusive city, with equitable access to education for all residents, as well as maintaining transparency and accountability in governance," he expressed, Wednesday (12/3).

In the Education Service Access Improvement category, Jakarta came out as the best among high fiscal province groups. Jakarta scored 0.104, surpassing the lowest score of 0.089, with an increase in the average length of schooling from 11.49 years to 11.59 years. The expected years of schooling also rose from 13.51 years to 13.80 years. This achievement indicates that access to education is becoming more open and that the learning duration of Jakarta residents is increasing.

Meanwhile, in the Local Government Management Performance category, Jakarta again ranks the highest at the provincial level with a score of 84.60, far above the lowest score of 25.13. This excellence is supported by strong achievements in the Regional Financial Management Index (IPKD), the Minimum Service Standard Index (ISPM), Local Government Performance (KPPD), and the Regional Competitiveness Index (IDSD). This assessment reflects the effectiveness, transparency, and accountability of local government governance.

Home Minister, Tito Karnavian stated that this award is given to motivate local governments to continue working to meet the expectations of the people. He reminded that regional heads are now elected through direct elections, so they are required to be able to maintain public trust.

"This is a challenge for all of you. Therefore, this reward is not only to motivate but also to create a competitive climate that can strengthen the legitimacy of regional heads," he explained.

He also encourages local governments to continue performing well and make tangible contributions to national progress.

"Competing to receive awards is part of our duty and worship to the people. This is a form of responsibility given, and at the same time a source of pride for all of you," he stated.
