Jakarta Council (DPRD) held a plenary meeting on Wednesday (11/19) to hear the general views of each factions regarding the draft bylaws (raperda) on the Formation, Renaming, Boundary Adjustment, and Dissolution of Sub-districts and Urban Villages.
"Ada beberapa wilayah yang harus dimekarkan,"
The meeting continued with Governor's response to the factions' views on the draft bylaws.
"With bismillahirrahmanirrahim, the plenary meeting is now open to the public," declared Jakarta DPRD Deputy Chairman, Wibi Andrino.
Wibi explained that in the previous meeting, Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung had delivered a speech outlining the draft bylaw. Following that, each council factions conducted internal discussions, and the results were presented in today's meeting.
After hearing from all factions, Wibi noted that the majority agreed to move the draft bylaw forward for thorough evaluation with the Council's Special Committees (AKD).
"Only one faction opposed it, namely the PKS Faction," he mentioned.
According to Wibi, further discussions at the AKD level are necessary because some areas in Jakarta require expansion to improve service delivery and streamline administration.
"There are areas that need to be divided due to their large size and dense population. This expansion is necessary, but the details must be carefully reviewed," he pointed out.
He emphasized that such expansions must not compromise residents' rights. Therefore, the Jakarta Provincial Government is urged to ensure proper infrastructure readiness, from access to education to public transportation.
"These elements, these variables, will be discussed in more detail at the AKD level," he added.
Furthermore, Wibi said the response given by Jakarta Vice Governor Rano Karno to the factional views was clear. He stated that the Jakarta Government generally agreed with the Council's input.
"They support the suggestions made by the factions. The city government will implement and refine them so the draft can be finalized through a comprehensive discussion," he explained.
