The Tuberculosis (TB) Eradication Program with Sepat Fish Nets initiated by the TB Alert Village in RW 10, Kalibaru Urban Village, Cilincing District, received appreciation from the Deputy Minister of Health, Benjamin Paulus Octavianus.

The results have been remarkable

He said that this visit to the North Jakarta area was in order to monitor and evaluate the implementation of the TB eradication program in the area.

"The results have been remarkable, compared to before the program was launched. Of the 3,100 residents, 2,000 have been screened, demonstrating the hard work of residents and field staff," he said, Wednesday (11/12).

He explained that the increase in case detection is not a negative thing. It means the public is now more aware and actively seeking testing. This allows patients to receive prompt treatment and the chain of transmission can be broken.

"Early detection is important," he added.

Assistant for Administration and Public Welfare of the Secretary of North Jakarta City, Muhammad Andri, said that this TB eradication program has been running for a long time and is always improving. So far there are 69 RWs that have been confirmed as alert villages.

"We will also continue to monitor and supervise TB cases in each region," he said.

Meanwhile, Head of RW 10, Geris Andries explained this program is an effort by residents to build cross-agency cooperation to prevent the spread of TB.

His party also routinely conducts TB screening for residents totaling 1,700 heads of families with the aim of ensuring that the disease can be detected more quickly and is not transmitted to other people.

"We will continue to maintain the health of residents and make RW 10 truly TB-free," he stated.
