The Jakarta Women's Badminton Team is ready to face West Java in the final match of Group D at the National Student Sports Week (POPNAS) XVII at Tanjung Priok GOR, North Jakarta, Wednesday (11/5).

Jakarta's Badminton Sports Branch Manager, Mat Hair, hoped to achieve victory and advance to the semifinals as the group champion.

"Hope we can advance to the semifinals as group champions. Facing West Java is not new; during Pra POPNAS 2024, we successfully defeated them in the final and became champions," he hoped.

Previously, the Women's Badminton Team had achieved victories against the Women's Teams of Bali, Riau Islands, North Sulawesi, and East Kalimantan. All matches ended with a clean 3-0 win.

During the match against East Kalimantan on Tuesday (11/4) evening, the victory was initiated by women's singles player Qori Nus Syarifah. Then, in the second match, the women's doubles team from Jakarta, Putri Ayudin paired with Ainun Komariyah.

In the final match, only Kavitha N Auliaen's women's singles complemented Jakarta's victory after defeating East Kalimantan's women's singles player Alisa A with straight sets 21-12 and 21-8.
