The West Jakarta Parks and City Forest Sub-agency has recorded handling 7,898 trees prone to falling in eight urban village areas from January to October 27, 2025.

Always be careful when going out in rainy or windy conditions

West Jakarta Parks and City Forest Sub-agency Head, Dirja Kusuma said, tree pruning is done to prevent the tree from falling during heavy rain accompanied by strong winds.

"This is done through the team’s field monitoring results, direct people reports, or via JAKI application," he expressed, Tuesday (10/28).

He details, light pruning was executed on 3,457 trees, moderate pruning on 2,374 trees, and heavy pruning on 1,588 trees.

Then the personnel also cut down 153 trees, handled 155 fallen trees, and 211 toppled trees.

"The most pruning so far has been in May and September 2025, with 932 trees pruned each time," he explained.

Considering that Jakarta is now entering the rainy season, residents and the local government are urged to increase vigilance towards the environment.

"Report immediately if you see trees with dangerous trunks or leaves. Always be careful when going out in rainy or windy conditions," he stated.
