A new sidewalk is being built on Jalan Ulujami Raya, Pesanggrahan Sub-district, South Jakarta.
This sidewalk is built with a width of four meters
Pesanggrahan Sub-district Bina Marga Executing Unit Head, Anton said that before the sidewalk was built, this area did not have a dedicated pedestrian lane and the road conditions were still poor.
"The location is a piece of land, which often makes residents uncomfortable when passing through, especially during and after rain," he expressed, Friday (10/24).
He explained, the construction of the 232-square-meter sidewalk involves seven personnel.
"This sidewalk is built with a width of four meters. The work progress has reached 58 square meters," he explained.
He hoped that it would allow pedestrians to walk more safely and comfortably as they are separated from the flow of passing motor vehicles.
"I want all residents to use the sidewalks according to their purpose and to maintain these public facilities so that their benefits can last even longer," he added.
The work received appreciation from a resident, Hadi.
"Previously, access was difficult because there were no sidewalks. Thank you, and I hope residents will make good use of it rather than misuse it as a parking or selling area," he closed.
