The ranks of East Jakarta Administration conducted foodstuff supervision at six traditional markets. The samples were checked on mobile laboratory in Ciracas Market.
78 samples were taken
Head of East Jakarta Food Security, Maritime and Agriculture Sub-agency, Taufik Yulianto said those six traditional markets are Ciracas Market, Cibubur Market, Kramat Jati Market, Jambul Market, Cijantung Market, and Lokbin Makasar Market.
"A total of 78 samples were taken from the six traditional markets, consisting of agricultural and livestock products," he said, Tuesday (10/21).
The samples taken included various agricultural and livestock commodities, including vegetables, fruit, rice, chicken, and beef. The types of tests conducted included pesticide residues, formalin, chlorine, and borax.
"We took 13 samples from each market for testing, consisting of 11 agricultural products and two livestock products," he added.
From the results of the examination in two laboratories, Taufik stated, no hazardous chemical substances were found in all the product samples tested.
"These six traditional markets have been declared safe from the dangerous food products," he stated.
Meanwhile, Head of Ciracas Urban Village, Sudarna admitted his ranks were also invited during the raid.
"We are grateful that the inspection results showed no hazardous chemicals. Residents will feel safer and more comfortable shopping at the market without worrying about hazardous materials, he admitted.
