Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung opened the Jakarta Architecture Festival (JAF) 2025 with theme 'Reimagining Space" at Blok M Hub, South Jakarta, Thursday (10/16).

I will ask MRT to develop this

During his speech, Pramono appreciates the implementation of this festival at Blok M Hub which is also used as main destination in Jakarta. He hopes that the JAF 2025 exhibition will support the development of architecture in Jakarta.

"This place really shows the things we imagine about the past. We will definitely have a lot of memories of Blok M," said Pramono.

Pramono wants Blok M Hub to develop into a public space. Therefore, he requested PT MRT Jakarta to continue the improvements at Blok M Hub.

"I will ask MRT to develop this into a truly happening place for all residents, especially for people who are going to Jakarta," he added.

Pramono also asked the Jakarta Provincial Government to hold various events to enliven the area.

Pramono also expressed his desire to collaborate with the Jakarta architect community in working on Jakarta Provincial Government projects, such as the dismantling of the monorail poles on Jalan Rasuna Said and the utilization of the land of the abandoned Sumber Waras Hospital.

Meanwhile, Teguh Aryanto, Chairman of the Jakarta Architects Association (IAI Jakarta), stated that the JAF 2025 exhibition is a gift from Jakarta architects to the public. The festival, which runs from October 16-26 at the Blok M Hub, is open to all.

"We want the residents to enjoy this event," he stated.

This exhibition is an annual event and emphasizes that architecture is not just for a certain group of people, but for everyone. The exhibition also offers design consultation services for low-income communities who have traditionally struggled to access architects.

The public can also consult with relevant agencies, such as in the Building Approval (PBG) service, urban planning, and others.

"Jakarta residents can discuss how to get a house that is healthy, comfortable and fire-safe," he added.

The Indonesian Institute of Architecture (IAI) Jakarta has declared the establishment of the Architectural Assistance Institute (LBA). The LBA aims to assist low-income communities who have difficulty accessing architects to obtain consultations on healthy, comfortable, and fire-safe home designs.
