The aerial cable utility along one kilometer on Jalan HOS Cokroaminoto, Menteng, Wednesday (10/25), were controller by personnel of Central Jakarta Bina Marga Sub-agency and Association of Telecommunication Network Providers.

Central Jakarta Mayor, Arifin said the aerial cables controlling is part of effort in realizing Jakarta as a global city.

"The cables will be placed inside the constructed utility facilities," he said.

He gave an example of the beautiful and comfortable conditions along Jalan Cikini Raya after there were no longer any dangling aerial cables.

Meanwhile, Head of Central Jakarta Bina Marga Sub-agency, M Soleh explained his side deployed 15 personnel to take down fiber optic cables along Jalan HOS Cokroaminoto.

"This activity is targeted for completion in a week," he explained.

He added that his side will gradually control the aerial cables on a number of roads until December.

Those roads are Jalan Kwini Senen, Jalan Kesehatan Gambir, Jalan Tanah Tinggi and KS Tubun, Tanah Abang, and Jalan Abdur Rahman Saleh, Sawah Besar.
