The Jakarta Youth and Sports Agency collaborated with Jakarta KORMI and various recreational and traditional sports organizations to hold the Jakarta People's Sports Festival (FOR) 2025 at Soemantri Brodjonegoro Sports Hall on Saturday (10/4).
Various elements of society can participate inclusively, sports for all
There are 10,000 participants competing in various types of sports, including Health and Fitness Sports, Adventure and Challenge, Traditional Sports, Creativity and Culture, and Sports for People with Disabilities.
Jakarta Youth and Sports Agency Head, Andri Yansyah said, the Jakarta Government continues to commit to promoting sports within the community.
He believes that sports are not only about achievements but also about fitness, health, happiness, and strengthening togetherness.
"This spirit underpins the organization of FOR Jakarta, where various elements of society can participate inclusively, sports for all," he explained.
He went on to say that FOR Jakarta 2025 serves as a means to socialize and cultivate sports among Jakarta residents, emphasizing the principles of participation, togetherness, and joy so that sports can be enjoyed by all segments of society.
"Hopefully, sports can become a healthy lifestyle, provide space for expression, integrate local economic empowerment through MSMEs, and create an inclusive festival atmosphere that unites the community," he explained.
As information, this festival is held with various Activity Zones including the Fitness Zone, featuring mass aerobic exercises by all sports enthusiasts under Jakarta KORMI.
Adventure and Challenge Zone, to foster courage and resilience through Airsoft Gun competitions, Breakdancing, Kite Making, and Marching Band.
Empowered Zone, for equality in sports by showcasing an Amputee Football exhibition.
Then Classic Zone aims to preserve the nation's cultural heritage by hosting competitions in various traditional sports such as stilts, long slippers, and others.
Kompak Zone, the involvement of the entire community in various regions resulting in the formation of 265 urban village teams throughout Jakarta participating in the Ondel-Ondel Creative Gymnastics Competition.
Lastly, Culinary Zone features various food bazaars and UMKM products fostered by DISPORA as part of promoting a sports-based economy.
