East Jakarta Administration remains intensifying the mosquito nest eradication. Today, the activity was focused on Jalan Manunggal Bhakti, RT 01/11, Kalisari Urban Village, Pasar Rebo District.

Head of East Jakarta Health Sub-agency, Herwin Meifendy said the mosquito nest eradication was held at the location since three dengue fever cases found there last month.

"It is still necessary to take preventive measures even though survivors have recovered. So that no one else gets dengue fever," he said, Friday (10/3).

He appealed to the public to continue increasing efforts to maintain cleanliness especially in the rainy season which triggers a risk of inundation.

Herwin added, based on data from the East Jakarta Health Sub-agency, there were 133 cases of dengue fever in January, 111 cases in February, 199 cases in March, 284 cases in April, and the peak in July reached 395 cases.

"The number is declining by 307 cases in August and 149 cases in September," he added.

Meanwhile, Head of Pasar Rebo District, Mujiono stated that the mosquito nest eradication is important to avoid dengue fever.

"I appeal the public to stop throwing rubbish carelessly," he invited.
