Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) Jakarta has distributed aid to fire victims in Tangki Urban Village, Tamansari Sub-district, West Jakarta.
"Meringankan beban para penyintas kebakaran"
PMI Jakarta Chairperson, Beky Mardani, stated that the aid included 15 boxes of bottled mineral water, 45 sets of school supplies, 50 sarongs, 90 pieces of women's clothing, and 113 pieces of children's clothing.
"The aid was delivered in stages. Some of it was handed over symbolically by Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung at the site, along with assistance from Social Agency," he explained on Wednesday (10/1).
Beky mentioned that when the fire occurred, PMI Jakarta and West Jakarta City responded promptly by deploying three ambulances and medical teams to provide first aid.
"Based on the field reports, a total of 15 people including residents and firefighters, received first aid at the location
," he explained.In order to meet the needs of food, he added, PMI Jakarta also provided 1,500 ready-to-eat meals over three consecutive days for fire victims.
In addition, his team also provide health services both on-site clinics and mobile outreach.
"We hope that the assistance from PMI and Jakarta Government can help ease the burden of more than 1,200 fire victims," he expressed.
