Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung visited a densely populated residential area in Tangki Urban Village, Taman Sari Sub-district, West Jakarta, that was recently hit by a fire. He came to personnally ensure that fire victims receive support and assistance they need.

"Jakarta Government should be present,"

Pramono stated that the Jakarta Government is focusing on providing assistance to fire victims and homes affected by the fire. He emphasized the importance of the government's presence in supporting their recovery.

"Jakarta Government should be present to help repair homes partially destroyed by the fire," he asserted on Tuesday (9/30).

He explained that most of the affected houses have clear ownership status, either under Right to Build (HGB) or Freehold Title (SHM), obtained through the Prona program (National Agrarian Operation Project) in 2018. This program, initiated by the National Land Agency (BPN), provided free land certification.

"A number of these houses here are certified under HGB or SHM, obtained through Prona program in 2018. I will follow up on this," he mentioned.

Pramono also assured that all residents can recover important documents related to home ownership. He noted that the Jakarta Government keeps backup files of these documents for affected homeowners.

"Since these documents were part of Prona program, Jakarta Government certainly has copies of them, whether HGB or SHM. I will make sure they get assistance in handling the paperwork. Everything is on file," he said.

Pramono noted that relevant agencies would work with affected residents on possible relocation or rebuilding. He believes many will choose to stay in the area due to emotional ties and existing home ownership status.

Meanwhile, concerning assistance for fire victims, Pramono confirmed that diapers and other essential needs, especially for toddlers, have already been addressed.

"Alhamdulillah, seeing how things unfolded, there were no fatalities. Six people suffered shortness of breath at the time, but they were treated properly," he shared.

On this occasion, Pramono also expressed appreciation for the firefighters who deployed 27 firetrucks and worked tirelessly. They even managed to rescue residents and 12 cats during the incident.

Furthermore, Pramono affirmed that the "one RT, one fire extinguisher (APAR)" program is still ongoing. However, strong winds during the fire and the abundance of plastic materials caused flames to spread rapidly.

During his visit, Governor Pramono also provided symbolic assistance to the affected residents. To date, emergency aid distribution and detailed victim data collection are still in progress.

Earlier reports noted that the fire broke out on Sunday (9/28) at around 10:00 AM and was extinguished around 10:50 PM. There were no casualties, though six people experienced breathing difficulties and received medical attention.

In total, 27 firetrucks and 135 personnel were deployed to the fire site. An electrical short circuit from a fan in a resident's house is suspected to have sparked the fire, which spread over roughly 8,406 square meters.

The affected areas spans RW 05 and 06, impacting approximately 316 households or 1,256 people. There were six injured persons, who received medical treatment onsite by the Emergency Ambulance Unit (AGD) of the Jakarta Health Agency and Indonesian Red Cross (PMI).

Fire victims are currently based in several shelters, including 21 households (49 people) at Al-Muhajirin Mosque, 44 households (176 people) at Tangki Urban Village Office, and 200 households (800 people) staying with neighbors nearby.

The Jakarta Provincial Government, through relevant agencies, has distributed logistical aid and provided psychosocial support services to affected residents.
