As many as 12 personnel of Central Jakarta Water Resources were deployed to normalize water channel on Jalan A Gang A4 RT 04/04, Karang Anyar, Sawah Besar.

Sawah Besar District's Head of Water Resources, Yusuf Sumardani said the normalization of the 120-meter-long channel follows up on residents' proposals submitted through the RW deliberation and Musrenbang stages.

"The work has been running since August by by dismantling the channel and installing a concrete u-ditch measuring 40 cm wide and 50 to 65 centimeters high," he said, Monday (9/22).

According to him, this channel normalization is to overcome the problem of flooding that often occurs in the area when heavy rain falls.

"Now the progress reaches 45 percent and is targeted to complete in October," he added .

Meanwhile, Margono (46), one of local residents, appreciated the personnel for quickly responding residents' proposal.

"Hopefully the channel will flow the water smoothly after being normalized," he admitted.
