Jakarta Environment (LH) Agency has guaranteed the safety and comfort of the surrounding community regarding the operation of Refuse-Derived Fuel (RDF) Plant in Rorotan, North Jakarta.

"Don't worry, every improvement has been made comprehensively,"

Jakarta LH Agency Head Asep Kuswanto emphasized that all processes have undergone careful and systematic trials to ensure they pose no harm to residents or the surrounding environment.

Asep explained that each stage of testing and operational preparation at Rorotan RDF Plant was carried out under the supervision of experts from Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), so the public need not worry.

"Don't worry, every improvement has been made comprehensively. We ensure that Rorotan RDF Plant operates safely, is environmentally friendly, and doesn't disrupt the surrounding community," he said in an official statement received by Beritajakarta on Saturday (9/20).

To show its commitment, LH Agency has added three more deodorizer units to help minimize odors in the processing area, product warehouse, and residue area.

The facility is also equipped with advanced emission control systems, including Cyclone and Bag Filters for dust particulates, additional Wet Scrubbers to reduce gas pollutants, Wet Electrostatic Precipitators to capture fine particulates and mist, and Activated Carbon filters to absorb harmful chemical compounds.

Asep added that modifications were also made to two existing facilities, specifically the Wet Scrubber and exhaust stack, to ensure emissions remain safe and comply with environmental quality standards.

Besides, the additional induced draft fan has also been installed to optimize gas flow to the exhaust stack for more controlled emissions.

According to him, the evaluation of Rorotan RDF Plant is not only a technical matter but also a reflection of the Jakarta Provincial Government's commitment to maintaining public trust.

"We want to ensure the public has no reason to worry. This RDF Plant is here to provide a waste management solution, not to create new problems," he asserted.

Asep noted that the Rorotan RDF Plant adopts advanced technology from Austria, Germany, Italy, and Nettherlands, which have proven effective in waste processing.

This technology offers added assurance that the facility operates safely and produces high-quality output.

"Once again, don't worry. Rorotan RDF Plant is fully prepared with high operational standards, continuous monitoring, support from ITB experts, and advanced European technology. We are committed to ensuring both comfort and safety for residents," he said.
