Dozens of joint personnel were deployed
The controlling was carried out in response to residents' complaints about the street vendors selling on the sidewalk at the location, disrupting pedestrian access.
Head of Tanah Abang District's Satpol PP, Budi Salamun said his side invited police and army to control street vendors occupying sidewalk and Transjakarta bus stop gate on Jalan Jati Baru Raya, Kampung Bali since Thursday (9/18).
"Dozens of joint personnel were deployed to control street vendors occupying sidewalk along Jala n Jati Baru Raya," he said, Friday (9/19).
According to him, the controlling was carried out humanely. Personnel did not confiscate the vendors' goods.
After the controlling, he added, Tanah Abang District's Satpol and Kampung Bali Urban Village held monitoring along Jalan Jati Baru Raya.
"Thankfully the street vendors were cooperative," he added.
He admitted that personnel will remain monitor the area to avoid street vendors occupying sidewalk and Transjakarta bus stop gate again.
"We also deploy personnel ahead of the rush hour in the afternoon," he stated.
