Jakarta Environment Agency sprays 4,000 liters of water mist at several strategic locations in the capital to reduce air pollution. This action is part of a series of pre-events for the Jakarta Eco Future Fest (JEFF) 2025, which will be held on September 25–26 at Cibis Park, South Jakarta.
We are working to reduce pollutant concentrations
Head of Jakarta Environment Agency, Asep Kuswanto said the spraying is conducted in Dukuh Atas, TB Simatupang, Fatmawati, Bundaran HI, MH Thamrin, and up to Lapangan Banteng.
Asep added this effort helps reduce pollutant particles, especially PM2.5, while also creating healthier public spaces.
"Air pollution is a major challenge faced by Jakarta. We are working to reduce pollutant concentrations while reminding residents of the importance of maintaining air quality," he said, Friday (9/19).
Moreover, the agency also deploys mobile videotron broadcasting educational messages about air pollution control. Public is invited to be more aware of simple steps, such as regularly testing vehicle emissions and switching to public transportation.
"Pollution control can not be done solely by the government. Participation by residents, businesses, and communities is crucial to realizing a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable Jakarta," he added.
Asep also invited residents to attend the Jakarta Eco Future Fest 2025, a festival that will showcase green innovations, recycled products, and various sustainable business initiatives.
The festival also features an Eco Market, an environmentally themed VR Experience, a community showcase, a treasure hunt, and musical performances.
"JEFF 2025 is a space for learning, inspiration, and celebration of a more environmentally friendly, sustainable lifestyle," he stated.
