"There was a significant decrease between 5 and 8 PM. The trial runs until tomorrow, but as of today, it shows a remarkable decrease," Pramono said, Friday (9/19).
Pramono stated that his policy to ease congestion on Jalan TB Simatupang has also received positive public appreciation. A decision regarding the extension of traffic engineering on Jalan TB Simatupang until the end of October will be made soon.
"We'll decide tomorrow," he added.
Jakarta Deputy Governor, Rano Karno added the Transportation Agency's report recorded traffic congestion declines to 24 percent.
"It declines to 24 percent especially during the rush hours," he added.
According to him, the traffic engineering policy, which uses one lane at the Fatmawati 2 toll gate for free, has helped ease the traffic congestion. The traffic engineering trial will run for five days, from 5 PM to 8 PM.
"This policy is quite helpful," he stated.
