Head of Central Jakarta Sub-agency, Rismasari said synergy with all health facilities (Faskes) is very important to ensure that measles cases are handled quickly and appropriately.
According to her, if a patient comes for treatment at a health facility and is suspected of having measles, a blood sample will be taken for examination at the Jakarta Health Agency's Labkesda.
"If the specimen results are declared positive, the Central Jakarta Health Sub-agency's health team will carry out Communication, Information and Education (KIE) to the patient's family," she said, Thursday (9/18).
Risma also appealed to residents who find neighbors or relatives with measles to report it to local health officials or the nearest Community Health Center, for prompt treatment.
Residents who contract measles are asked to temporarily isolate themselves at home to prevent transmission to others who have weak immune systems.
She added her team is massively conducting socialization on providing measles vaccinations to residents who have children to prevent the spread of the disease.
"If you experience symptoms such as fever, cough, runny nose, and rash, immediately consult the nearest health facility," she added.
Based on data on suspected cases or showing symptoms of measles cases, there were 19 cases found in 12 of the 44 sub-districts in Central Jakarta.
"The health team has provided rapid medical treatment to residents who are suspected of having measles," she stated.
