The Empowerment, Child Protection, and Population Control Sub-agency (PPAPP), held a coordination meeting on special protection for children on Thursday (9/18).
Cross-sector synergy continues to be built
This activity was attended by 50 representatives of regional device organizations (OPD), led by Central Jakarta Administration and People's Welfare Assistant, M Reza Pahlevi.
According to him, this coordination meeting aims to unify perceptions, develop strategies, and strengthen collaboration among stakeholders in a bid to protect children through character education in schools, reinforce the role of families, and involve the community.
He asserted, handling child cases should be optimized with a humane approach focused on protection and recovery, not just punishment.
"Cross-sector synergy continues to be built, thus children are protected from all forms of violence and can develop their potential optimally," he expressed.
He hoped, this meeting could produce tangible recommendations and follow-up steps that can be implemented in policies, programs, and activities in the field.
"This is a joint commitment to realize Central Jakarta as a child-friendly, safe, and conducive environment for the growth and development of the next generation of the nation," he explained.
Central Jakarta Children's Protection Section Acting Head, Andhika Akbar explained, the meeting was held to formulate strategies for the prevention and handling of children who require special protection.
He also hoped this could increase awareness, provide perspectives on child protection, regulation, and handling experience.
"The government, schools, and the community can collaborate to create an effective supervision mechanism," he stated.
