Jakarta City Council's Commission B Chairman, Nova Harivan Paloh hopes the traffic engineering trial on Jalan TB Simatupang could be a solution to the traffic jams caused by the utility excavation project in the area.
Hopefully it will be effective
Nova stated that he had personally inspected the excavation project being run by Paljaya and PAM Jaya. He assessed the narrow road conditions were exacerbating traffic congestion, thus deeming the Jakarta Provincial Government's move to open toll access appropriate.
"Governor's or Transportation Agency's move by opening Fatmawati 2 toll gate is good. Hopefully it will be effective," he said, Tuesday (9/16).
He also appealed the relevant BUMD to expedite the completion of the excavation project so that the traffic jam problem at the location could end soon.
"This road only has two lanes and is located in an office area," he added.
Nova continued that opening access to the Fatmawati 2 Toll Gate is a short-term solution that needs to be accompanied by accelerated excavation work.
"It's a good short-term solution. BUMD must accelerate the excavation work," he stated.
As for information, the Jakarta government applies a traffic diversion trial specifically at the Fatmawati Intersection - Lebak Bulus segment, from September 15 to 19, 2025. The trial takes place every day from 5 PM to 8 PM.
Jakarta Transportation Agency will open the far-left lane at the Fatmawati 2 Toll Gate, which can be used free of charge by four-wheeled vehicles. This lane will be channeled to the Lebak Bulus toll off-ramp.
