East Jakarta Mayor, Munjirin led the roll call of Residents Have Light Extinguisher, or locally known as GEMPAR movement in Pulo Gadung District.

The declaration was attended by 100 participants ranging from RT, RW, FKDM, public figure, religious figure, army/police and civil servants.

Munjirin explained this Gempar Program is a follow-up to Jakarta Governor's Instruction Number 5/2025 about the Community Movement to Have Fire Extinguishers.

"A declaration of commitment and readiness was read from all components of society in Pulo Gadung District. This commitment must be implemented," he explained, Monday (9/15).

He appealed heads of urban villages and districts to monitor the progress of light extinguisher ownership.

He also instructed East Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-agency to assist the use and maintenance of a light extinguisher.

"It is aimed to know the expiration date and how to use it," he added.

Meanwhile, a member of RW 05 FKDM, Kayu Putih Urban Village, Maskurila (40), appreciated the GEMPAR declaration as one of efforts in preventing and handling fire.

"Residents are becoming more aware of the importance of having a fire extinguisher at home. More importantly, they must also know how to use it," he admitted.
