The East Jakarta Fire and Rescue Seribu Islands (Gulkarmat) successfully put out the flames that burned a storage shed for used goods on Jalan Usman Harun, RT 08/05, Kebon Pala Urban Village, Makasar Sub-district.

East Jakata Gulkarmat Sub-agency's Operation Section Head, Abdul Wahid said, the fire at the used goods storage shed belonging to Akhmad (49) was reported to have occurred at 10:14 AM.

"Allegedly, it was triggered by burning trash spreading to a pile of wood," he expressed, Monday (9/8).

To handle it, 15 firefighters and three fire engines were immediately deployed to the scene.

The extinguishing process began at 10:25 AM, the flames were successfully localized around 10:26 AM, and the handling was declared complete at 10:45 AM.

"No casualties and fatalities in the incident. The fire has been covered to the police for further information," he explained.

One of the local residents, Respati (45) admitted, the fire came out from the back of the shed. Early fire suppression efforts were unsuccessful.

"Fire quickly grew and burned the pile of scrap. Thank you to the firefighters who responded and handled this fire promptly," he stated.
