The North Jakarta Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimko) invited people to participate in Gotong Royong Gerak Cepat Jaga Jakarta (Quick Action Mutual Cooperation to Protect Jakarta), which included cleaning public facilities vandalized on Jalan Yos Sudarso, Sungai Bambu Urban Village, Tanjung Priok Sub-district.
"...create a conducive and peaceful situation,"
North Jakarta Mayor, Hendra Hidayat, said the cleaning was carried out to restore the city's aesthetic.
"Today, I, together with the Police Chief, Military Commander, and Head of District Attorney as members of North Jakarta Forkopimko, collaborated with residents to clean up the aftermath of yesterday's incident," he said on Monday (9/1).
He believes this collaboration can initiate and encourage the community, especially in North Jakarta, not to be easily provoked, to protect their region, and to bravely fend off those with negative intentions.
"We hope this becomes an example of synergy and a positive force for the entire community. Let's protect our neighborhoods in North Jakarta and
create a conducive and peaceful situation," he urged. He also expressed gratitude to all parties who collaborated and supported the joint cleanup action since Sunday (8/31).
"Thanks to everyone who has helped coordinate this effort. Let's cool down the situation and spread positive vibes for all of us," he appealed.
Sungai Bambu Acting Head, Ahmad Surya Kusuma, added that the vandalism cleanup also involved 30 PPSU personnel.
"Each from Sungai Bambu and Kebon Bawang Urban Villages deployed 15 Orange Troops," he mentioned.
Meanwhile, a local resident, Hidayat (36), appreciated the cleanup action carried out by North Jakarta Forkopimko.
"I feel concerned about the anarchism and vandalism incidents. I hope people can be more aware and caring to protect public facilities," he shared.
