Progress on the flagship area development on Jalan Rahayu, RT 03/01, Tengah Urban Village, Kramat Jati, East Jakarta, has now reached 85 percent.
"...is targeted for completion by September,"
Tengah Urban Village Head, Budy Hartati, said the work is being carried out on a 20-meter-long and 2.1-meter-wide plot of land that was previously used as an illegal dumping site.
"We're transforming this area along the banks of Kali Baru to make it cleaner, more beautiful, and greener," she said on Thursday (8/28).
Hartati explained that the area is being developed into a garden complete with a mural, worked on by four Public Facilities and Infrastructure Handling (PPSU) personnel.
"The work began in mid-June 2025 and is targeted for completion by Septembe
r," she added.Meanwhile, one of PPSU personnel on duty, Samsidar, shared that the garden’s concept features a wall relief design with plenty of ornamental plants.
"We're preparing 500 polybags as planting media for various ornamental plants, such as kris plant, red cordyline, and yellow philo," he explained.
According to him, the ornamental plants used in the project are cultivated by PPSU personnel at the Dahlia Child-Friendly Integrated Public Space (RPTRA).
"So far, there have been no issues during the process. In fact, the residents are highly supportive," he said.
