Around 250 Harapan Mulya 01 Elementary School students, Kemayoran, were enthusiastic in participating Gemarikan (eating fish) campaign held by Central Jakarta Food Security, Marine and Agriculture (KPKP) Sub-agency, Tuesday (8/26).

Central Jakarta KPKP Sub-agency Head, Penty Yunesi Pudjiastuti, explained her side educated children about consuming fish for brain and body development through this campaign. The education was given through storytelling.

"Enjoying eating fish from an early age is very good for children to become smarter, healthier and stronger," she explained.

Moreover, she added, the Gemarikan campaign also contributed to reducing the number of stunting cases in Central Jakarta.

"Each student received a gift in the form of fish balls, dumplings, and presto milkfish," she added.

SDN Harapan Mulya 01 Headmaster, Tusiyana Komalasari, thanked and hoped the campaign can also be held in other schools.

"Hopefully the students will prefer to eat fish food rather than read-to-eat food," she hoped.
