The South Jakarta Satpol PP successfully confiscated and destroyed 1,011 illegal medicines sold without a prescription.
We immediately destroyed it on the spot.
South Jakarta Satpol PP Head, Ali Haryanto said the circulation of those illegal drugs is vulnerable to misuse by the public, so immediate enforcement action was taken.
"Yesterday afternoon, we immediately destroyed it on the spot. Then, the seller was documented and prohibited from selling the special category medicines without a doctor's prescription again. If they violate this again, further action will be taken," he expressed, Thursday (8/21).
He explained, confiscated medicine was found at one of the pulsa seller kiosks on Jalan Brigif Raya, RT 12/06, Ciganjur Urban Village, Jagakarsa Sub-district, South Jakarta.
"Residents must buy medicines from official sources and use a doctor's prescription to ensure authenticity; do not be tempted by cheap prices," he explained.
Jagakarsa Sub-district Head, Santoso explained, this action was taken as a follow-up to information from residents because drug transactions without a doctor's prescription often occur at the location.
"During the raid at the pulsa seller's kiosk, they were found selling controlled substances without a doctor's prescription," he stressed.
He asserted that the regulation of illegal drugs refers to Bylaw 8/2007 on Public Order.
He urged residents to always be vigilant against the circulation of illegal drugs and asked community leaders to actively conduct checks or warnings to individuals or locations suspected of disturbing public order.
"Do not be afraid to report to the authorities if you find similar cases in your community. Thus, our future generations can be free from negative influences," he stated.
