The construction of an integrated communal septic tank with appropriate biogas technology and household scale at Rusun Bidara Cina, RW 11, Bidara Cina Urba Village, Jatinegara Sub-district, East Jakarta, is being accelerated to meet the target by the end of September.

East Jakarta Mayor, Munjirin said, the groundbreaking for the septic tank construction on July 28 is targeted to be completed within 1.5 months.
"The construction is still ongoing. It is currently in progress and so far there are no obstacles," he expressed, Wednesday (8/20).
According to the initial plan, the construction of an integrated communal septic tank utilizing appropriate biogas technology from fecal waste will later be used as an alternative energy source to replace gas for residents' cooking needs. Additionally, it can also be used as a source of lighting energy.
Bidara Cina Urban Village Head, Suhartono explained, the excavation of three septic tank holes for feces collection is underway.
"These three storage tanks are planned to serve residents of the three towers in Block 1, totaling 336 housing units," he explained.
He added that in the near future, there will also be a phase of installing biogester as a device or system that processes waste into biogas.
"The installation of this biogas reactor takes about a week because it needs to be assembled first and fitted into the already dug hole," he stated.
