Jakarta City Council Commission D Chairman, Yuke Yurike supports the Jakarta Government's plan to revitalize Ragunan Zoo (TMR) in South Jakarta.
We support it, but the entrance ticket must be affordable
Nevertheless, she reminded that the revitalization should not affect the increase in entrance ticket prices to the zoo, so as not to burden visitors.
"Actually, this zoo is very large. Besides serving as a Green Open Space (RTH) and a place for plant and animal conservation, this zoo is also an amusement park for the people. So, the tickets shouldn't be expensive," she expressed, Wednesday (8/20).
She explained, the revitalization plan had actually been underway before the current Governor and Deputy Governor took office. In fact, there was already a winner of a beauty contest to beautify the area.
"We'll realize it this year until next year; a budget has already been allocated for the planning," she explained.
She furthered, Commission D is still awaiting the latest report regarding the revitalization plan from the Jakarta Parks and City Forest Agency.
"Basically, we support it, but the entrance ticket must be affordable. Ragunan must remain preserved as an inexpensive entertainment for the people, as well as a place for the community to learn," she stated.
