Seribu Island KPKP Sub-agency Head, Nurliati, said this mobile service targeted pets in four RWs of Tidung Island Urban Village.
"The anti-rabies vaccines and sterilization were conducted to 55 male and 75 female cats," she said, Tuesday (8/19).
She added that this activity is routinely held to maintain Jakarta as free rabies city since 2004. Then, controlling the cat population and increasing animal health and safety guarantees for pet owners.
"We deployed eight veterinarians and paramedics from the sub-agency as well as the Jakarta Indonesian Veterinary Association and Pet Love Center," she added.
Meanwhile, Tidung Island Head, Hafsah, welcomed and appreciated this free vaccination and sterilization.
"Hopefully this activity can be held routinely to increase animal owners' knowledge of the dangers of rabies," she stated.
Meanwhile, one of local residents, Ambar (24), thanked the free vaccination and sterilization activity
held near her house."I always vaccinate my cats against rabies. This is important for our health and to prevent them from rabies," she admitted.
