"There are 24,405 people who applied for 1,000 job openings,"

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung announced the results of the administrative selection for Individual Service Providers (PJLP) recruitment for firefighter positions for the 2025 fiscal year.

According to him, 17 percent of a total of 24,405 applicants have passed the administrative selection.

"There are 24,405 people who applied for 1,000 job openings. Today, I received a report that out of those applicants, 17 percent or over 4,000 individuals passed the administrative selection," said Pramono at Plaza Bendera, Jakarta International Velodrome, East Jakarta, on Tuesday (8/19).

He shared that many applicants failed to meet the required criteria, such as having a minimum height of 165 centimeters and a B1 driving license. Besides, he added, there is a high level interest from non-Jakarta residents who accouted for 45 percent of the applicants.

This indicates that employment issues are not only present in Jakarta, but also in other regions, leading individuals to seek job opportunities in the capital.

"Therefore, if an applicant doesn't meet the requirements, they are automatically disqualified," he asserted.

Although the recruitment is open to non-Jakarta residents, Pramono emphasized that Jakarta Provincial Governemnt prioritizes Jakarta residents for these firefighter positions.

"If the positions are not filled by Jakarta residents, then we will open opportunities for those from outside Jakarta," he pointed out.

Following the administrative selection, the Jakarta Provincial Government will proceed to the next stages of the selection process until 1,000 qualified firefigthers are selected.

"We will process and finalize this promptly," he stressed.

For information, this recruitment aims to enhance fire and rescue services in Jakarta.

Head of Jakarta Fire and Rescue (Gulkarmat) Agency, Bayu Meghantara, informed that there are 1,000 positions available, with the main requirements being Indonesian citizenship, aged between 18-30 years, and preferably holding a Jakarta Identity Card (KTP).

According to him, the positions will be distributed across five Gulkarmat Sub-agencies, namely 202 in West Jakarta, 187 in Central Jakarta, 211 in South Jakarta, 219 in East Jakarta, and 181 in North Jakarta.
