The Barito area in South Jakarta will soon be transformed into a green open space designed as a national icon and a family-friendly public space.
All of this is designed to provide a comfortable, inclusive, and enjoyable public space experience
Jakarta Parks and City Forest Agency Head, M Fajar Sauri said, the use of Barito land will be utilized to build the Pusaka Flag Park, which will integrate three major parks in South Jakarta, namely Langsat Park, Ayodya Park, and Barito Park.
"This area will integrate Langsat Park, Ayodya Park, and Barito Park into a single large, safe, and friendly green open space for all," he expressed, Wednesday (8/6).
He explained, this nearly six-hectare park would provide various public facilities such as a link bridge connecting different parts of the park, a jogging track, a children's playground, a multipurpose room, and an open-air amphitheater for art and cultural performances.
"All of this is designed to provide a comfortable, inclusive, and enjoyable public space experience for the community," he explained.
He continued, it is part of the Jakarta Provincial Government's commitment to creating a green, sustainable, and resilient city.
"With the future-oriented development of the Barito area, the government presents a more organized cityscape and ensures that every resident still has space to grow and develop, both socially and economically," he continued.
As information, the government has also prepared the Jakarta Fauna Center in Lenteng Agung as a healthy, educational, and modern pet trade center.
The area arrangement is conducted with a humane and non-repressive approach. As a form of commitment to the traders, the government provides various conveniences, such as temporary relocation to the areas around Kulabasar Market and markets managed by PD Pasar Jaya. Additionally, there is a three-month rent-free period at the relocation sites, as well as freedom to choose the relocation location according to the traders' preferences and comfort.
