Central Jakarta City Administration is about to establish Disability Service Unit (ULD) of city level as the realization of Regional Regulation No 4/2022 about Implementation of Respect, Protection and Fulfillment of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

Head of the Public Welfare Section of the Central Jakarta City Secretary, Ahmad Juhandi said his side has held a meeting with relevant stakeholders regarding the formation of a city-level ULD.

"It is targeted to be realized this year," he said, Tuesday (7/29).

According to Juhandi, ULD services are to improve and equalize services to educational units, inclusive education providers and students with disabilities.

"The ULD services include student assessment, psychological consultation and inclusive education workshops," he added.

He continued that the service is about to prepare at Central Jakarta Mayor Office which is easily accessed by the people with disabilities.

"The construction fund will be assisted by Jakarta Baznas Bazis," he continued.

According to him, the service unit is needed considering the large number of students with disabilities.

"There are 2,954 students with disabilities ranging from elementary to senior high schools in Central Jakarta," he stated.
