Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung announced that Jakarta's poverty rate has decreased year-on-year (YoY). He also emphasized that the Jakarta Provincial Government is committed to controlling inflation to maintain people's purchasing power.

"Our poverty rate has not increased; in fact, it has declined, as widely reported in almost all media. So, Jakarta's poverty rate from year to year has not gone up, but it has gone down," he said, on Monday (7/28).

The city government has also implemented policies to control inflation, including a reduction in the Motor Vehicle Fuel Tax (PBBKB). This incentive is provided based on Governor's Decree No. 542/2025.

" Because we want to control inflation first, so that it does not rise sharply. The Jakarta Government is one of the governments that seriously controls inflation," he asserted.

In addition, he also explained that Jakarta's tax revenue is increasing. Therefore, the government is providing a reduction in vehicle fuel taxes to the public.

The decree outlines three tax reduction schemes:

1. A 50 percent reduction for private vehicle users.

2. A 50 percent reduction for public vehicle users.

3. a 80 percent reduction for fuel used by vehicles supporting primary defense and security systems, such as tanks, armored vehicles, tactical vehicles, aircraft, ambulances, and hospital ships.

"These are the reductions we are offerring, and the duration will be announced later," he concluded.
