The Jakarta Esports contingent brought home a gold medal at the National Recreational Sports (Fornas) VIII NTB 2025.

The gold was earned through game Tekken 8 at UIN Mataram Auditorium, West Nusa Tenggara, on Sunday (7/27).
In the final round, Jakarta Esports athlete, Christian performed dominantly by defeating the representative from South Sumatera with clean 3-0 score. The result confirmed Christian's outstanding performance as he remained undefeated throughout the tournament, not losing a single game.
Indonesia Esports Association (IESPA) Jakarta official at Fornas VIII NTB 2025, Rico Junius, said Christian consistently stayed in the upper bracket with a 2-0 wins from the early rounds to the final, capping off his flawless run in the championship match.
"There were a total of 26 teams from various provinces in the Tekken category. In the final, Christian met South Sumatra and won 3-0.
From the start, he never lost a single game, clean sheet from start to finish," said Rico.He noted that Christian has long experience in Tekken, having played the PlayStation 1 era and even winning a title in a global tournament.
After taking a break, Christian made a comeback and won the regional Forda selection for DKI Jakarta, which qualified him to represent the province at Fornas this year.
"He also defended his Tekken title for Jakarta. At the previous Fornas in West Java, he also won gold,” he added.
Head of Jakarta Youth and Sports Agency, Andri Yansyah, expressed his appreciation for the achievement. He said he was proud of the first gold medal secured by Jakarta's Esports team, especially Christian.
According to Andri, this proves that Jakarta's youth have great potential in digital sports. He hopes this victory will motivate other DKI Jakarta athletes competing at Fornas VIII NTB 2025 to deliver their best for Jakarta.
"We at Dispora DKI Jakarta will continue to support the development and coaching of Esports so it can grow and compete at both national and international levels," he asserted.
