Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung, Saturday (7/26), launched Transjakarta's Route 1W that serves Ancol - Blok M Terminal. This route is served by 13 electric buses.

"Jakarta Provincial Government is about to decrease emission resulted by transportation. So we use electric buses," said Pramono.

Pramono added 200 electric buses to be operated this year. At this moment, 70 buses have been operated. The remaining 130 units to be operated in October.

According to Pram, this number is in addition to the 300 electric buses already in operation. This brings the total number of electric buses operating in Jakarta to 500 by the end of 2025.

Regarding the Transjakarta Route 1W, Pramono explained that it will serve 11 bus stops, 10 of which are BRT. The round-trip travel time is 120-150 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.

"The bus headway is about 5-10 minutes," he explained.

Besides being a public transportation option, he continued, Route 1W also aims to transform the Ancol Transjakarta bus stop into a new hub. It is hoped that this route will increase tourist visits to Ancol.

In addition to Transjakarta, Pramono also stated that the MRT construction to Ancol will be completed in 2029.

Furthermore, the Jakarta Provincial Government plans to build a pedestrian bridge connecting the Ancol area with the JIS Stadium in Papanggo, Tanjung Priok.

"Jakarta residents have many options for vacations, recreation, and exercise with these facilities," Pramono stated.
