Jakarta Deputy Governor, Rano Karno, officially opened the Jakarta Investment Festival (JIF) 2025 at Rumah Kaca Melati Hutan Kota By Plataran, Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, Gelora, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta, Thursday (7/24) evening.

This activity aimed at opening up business collaboration opportunities in Jakarta, offering an investment project portfolio worth Rp 430.9 trillion or approximately 26.9 billion US dollars.

"I offer collaboration for the future of Jakarta as the epicenter of ASEAN," he expressed.

In the Jakarta Investment Festival 2025 Networking Night event, there were representatives from ASEAN countries such as Singapore, Cambodia, East Timor, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, and Malaysia.

This momentum marks the beginning of strategic partnerships between Jakarta, the business world, and global partners from various sectors.

Amid the current global challenges such as geopolitical tensions, economic pressures, and climate change, he said that Southeast Asia actually emerges as a region with bright prospects. In fact, it continues to demonstrate stability and collaboration that inspire confidence among global investors.

This was proven in 2023, when ASEAN became the largest recipient of foreign direct investment among developing countries, accounting for 17 percent of global flows.

Then, Jakarta as Indonesia's economic capital also accounts for about 6 percent of the ASEAN regional gross domestic product (GDP).

"This is evidence that Jakarta is not only an important national hub but also a regional one," he explained.

Rano asserted that this condition also strengthens Jakarta's position as the heart of diplomatic, economic, and cultural cooperation in Southeast Asia. In line with this, he confirmed that his side is still making improvements and Jakarta aims to enter the top 50 global cities by 2030 and the top 20 by 2045.

The improvements made include developing the Blok M area as a center for ASEAN community activities. The arrangement of that area was inaugurated in June 2025, coinciding with the ASEAN Fest and Hood as well as Jakarta's 498th anniversary.

He admitted, the vision of making Jakarta a top global city can only be achieved through strong partnerships with the private sector, international agencies, and other development partners.

Therefore, through the JIF initiated by them, they are offering an investment project portfolio worth Rp 430.9 trillion or approximately Rp 26.9 billion.

This investment covers 31 sustainable projects in the transportation, clean water, sanitation, and strategic area development sectors.

He furthered, Jakarta also has development projects in various areas, such as the Pasar Baru area in Central Jakarta, to become a cultural shopping district.

Then, the Ancol area, JIS, Sunter Lake, and Cincin Lake in North Jakarta became the Jakarta New Belt, while the Cawang Hub area in East Jakarta was designated as the Crossroad East, Jakarta Metro Transport Interchange.

Then, he admitted to seeking partners to develop the Integrated Utility Network Channel (SJUT) along Jakarta's main roads through a ready-to-collaborate public-private partnership scheme.

To follow up on this, he invited interested parties to coordinate directly with the Jakarta Investment Center (JIC), the official government agency of Jakarta that is ready to facilitate investments and assist investors from planning to licensing stages.

He added the Jakarta Investment Festival, which runs until October, will present various investment opportunities.

Therefore, he invites prospective investors to participate in a series of events prepared for JIF 2025.

"Let's build partnerships, realize opportunities, and invest in Jakarta," he closed.
