Jakarta City Council Commission E Member, Chicha Koeswoyo welcomes the Jakarta Government's plan to revive joint sports activities every Friday morning for all civil servants (ASN) at the Jakarta City Hall.
Residents are expected to take 10,000 steps each day
According to her, this step is important to realign the civil servant's physical and mental health to make service to the community becomes more optimal.
"Indeed, it needs to be reorganized, to see how far the capacity of these civil servants is, meaning physically, mentally, and spiritually," she expressed, Monday (7/21).
Based on Jakarta Health Agency data for 2024, 62 percent of civil servants experience obesity, 15.4 percent are overweight, 27.6 percent have hypertension, 5.7 percent have diabetes mellitus, 24 percent are under fitness, and 15 percent suffer from mental health disorders.
Seeing the high prevalence of these health issues, the Jakarta Government launched the Jakarta BERJAGA 2.0 campaign, a movement aimed at building healthy living habits among the community, with civil servants as the main role models.
She appreciated the campaign and encouraged all residents to adopt an active lifestyle. She also reminded everyone of the importance of physical fitness to support mental health.
"Residents are expected to take 10,000 steps each day to maintain their physical fitness. So, physically we are healthy, and mentally we are surely healthy as well," she stated.
