North Jakarta Environmental Sub-agency conducted free emission test at Pendopo Yard RW 02, Tugu Utara Urban Village, Koja District. As many as 63 two and four-wheeled vehicles participated the test.

North Jakarta Environmental Sub-agency Head, Edy Mulyanto, said the free emission test was held as an appreciation for RW that will take part in national level of Program Kampung Iklim 2025 competition.

"There are six RWs take part in the competition. So we provided free emission test for the residents," he said, Wednesday (7/2).

Sub-agency's Head Section of Environmental Pollution and Damage Control, Evy Sulistiawati, stated the free emission test was participated by 34 motorcycles and 29 four-wheeled vehicles.

The test involved 25 personnel from the sub-agency and one mobile emission test.

"12 motorcycles and two cars failed to meet the minimum requirement," she stated.

She appealed the owners to repair their vehicles. She also hopes this test will trigger other residents to contribute in improving air quality in Jakarta.

Meanwhile, RW 02 Head, Sahmad Wijaya thanked the sub-agency for providing this free emission test.

"Residents were enthusiast to participate the test. It means they are aware with the air pollution issue," he said.
