Fish farmers in Kelapa Island Urban Village, North Thousand Islands Sub-district, Thousand Islands received assistance in form of 24,000 cantang grouper fish seeds from Jakarta Baznas Bazis and Baitil Maal Brilian Foundation (YBM).

Head of Jakarta Baznas (Bazis) Division IV, Bunyamin, said the assistance is part of Senyum Teluk Jakarta collaboration program aimed at economic empowerment with a focus on fishery sector, particularly cantang grouper farming.
"This program aims to improve the welfare of fishermen in Thousand Islands," he said when handing over the assistance at Keramba Jaring Apung, Kelapa Dua Island, on Tuesday (6/17).
Bunyamin explained, the assistance would greatly help fish farmers in Thousand Islands in developing their business.
"The positive impact of this program has been felt by the residents, not only through increased fish productions, but also through improved income," he conveyed.
Kelapa Island Urban Village Head, Muslim, expressed appreciation and gratitude to Jakarta Baznas Bazis for distributing the fish seeds to his residents.
He assessed that economic independence through cantang grouper farming not only increases their income, but also helps to build food security and the local economy.
"We hope this program continues to grow and inspires other regions. Recipients must also report their progress to Baznas Bazis," he mentioned.
Meanwhile, Head of the Pokdakan Mandiri on Kelapa Dua Island, Mansur, also thanked Jakarta Baznas Bazis for the support.
"We are very grateful and helped by this aid. These fish seeds will be carefully maintained to produce a plentiful harvest," he said.
