Jakarta Provincial Government is committed to fully support the Indonesian Capital City (IKN) development by signing a Joint Memorandum of Understanding with PT Bina Karya at Balairung, Jakarta City Hall, Monday (6/16).

The cooperation involves three Jakarta BUMDs namely PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro), PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta), and Perumda Pasar Jaya, as well as Environmental Agency.
"The cooperation is held to support the smoothness of IKN development," Pramono said.
Jakarta Provincial Government will provide support including in terms of waste management which could later become a problem in the IKN. According to him, Jakarta's experience in waste management can be an example and learning for the IKN.
Pramono added that the problem of waste management in Jakarta is now a favorite for many entrepreneurs. The Bantargebang Integrated Waste Processing Site (TPST) currently has a pile of waste of up to 55 million tons. Meanwhile, the daily volume of waste in Jakarta reaches 7,700 tons.
Jakarta will build four Waste-to-Energy Power Plants (PLTS) with a capacity of 2,500 tons per day to manage the waste problem.
Jakarta BPBUMD Head, Syaefuloh Hidayat stated this collaboration is a strategic step in collaboration between the Jakarta Provincial Government and PT Bina Karya to improve competence and study the development of the Indonesian Capital City.
The scope of cooperation includes improving competency and waste management studies, improving competency and infrastructure management studies, improving competency and transportation management studies, and improving competency and market management studies.
"For the long-term collaboration, Jakarta Provincial Government will give support of IKN development such as clean water management, wastewater management, energy, food, and tourism," he stated.
Meanwhile, IKN Authority Head, Basuki Hadimuljono appreciated Jakarta Provincial Government's support in managing IKN infrastructure. The cooperation also includes the waste management.
According to him, Jakarta Provincial Government's experience in managing Bantargebang Integrated Dump Site is needed. An integrated dump site in IKN has been constructed with capacity of 7 tons.
"We need Jakarta's experience in managing waste," he stated.
This cooperation also includes the management of the Wastewater Treatment Plant (IPAL) and drinking water in the IKN. Basuki added that the auction process for the operation of this facility is underway.
