Surge in Passengers for Long-distance Buses is Seen at Pulo Gebang Terminal

The increase in intercity and interprovince bus users (AKAP) is seen at the Pulo Gebang Integrated Terminal, East Jakarta.

They departed using 1,106 buses heading to West Java, Central Java, and East Java

They are taking advantage of the holiday of Idul Adha combined with the joint leave from June 6 to 9, 2025, to return to their hometown or travel to other regions.

Pulo Gebang Terminal Group Commander, Badman Harahap said, the number of passengers since June 4, 2025, until this morning had reached 13,571 people.

"They departed using 1,106 buses heading to West Java, Central Java, and East Java," he expressed, Friday (6/6).

He detailed that the departure of passengers amounted to 5,959 people using 483 buses on Wednesday (6/4), and 6,360 passengers using 528 buses on Thursday (6/5).

"For today, starting from 12 AM to 10 AM, the number of departing passengers is 1,252 people using 95 buses," he explained.

According to him, the number of passengers increased significantly because it was only around 1,500-2,000 passengers on regular days, while it was about 2,500 on weekends.

"From June 4 until this morning, the number of bus passengers arriving at Pulo Gebang Terminal was 2,736 people using 830 vehicles," he explained.

Meanwhile, one of the bus passengers, Saeful (42), was traveling back to his hometown in Brebes, Central Java.

"My family is in the village. I want to celebrate Idul Adha with my family there," he said.
