The construction of a new water channel on Jalan Pengadegan IX, Pancoran, South Jakarta is being expedited and will be completed by the end of this month.

"This channel is built to minimize flooding in the rainy season," stated Pancoran Sub-district Water Resources (SDA) Executing Unit Head, Bowo, Wednesday (5/21).

He explained it was built along 180 meters using a 40x40-centimeter U-ditch.

"It has been ongoing since a month and involves ten workers," he explained.

He hoped that the work progress which has touched 80 percent could anticipate flooding effectively.

"We'll soon finish it on time," he hoped.

The work above received appreciation from one of the locals, Maman (51).

"Thank you for building this water channel wider and better," he stated.
