South Jakarta City Government appreciates the Peduli Lingkungan Masjid collaboration program initiated by Jakarta Baznas Bazis and Perumda Paljaya in realizing healthy sanitation.

"...one of the parameters being the improvement of the quality of life in the community,"

South Jakarta Acting Deputy Mayor, Ali Murthadho, stated that the South Jakarta Government expresses gratitude because Raya Al Insan Patal Senayan Mosque, Kebayoran Lama, has become the pilot project for the program.

"This is very good, as it is one of the programs supporting Jakarta as a global city, with one of the parameters being the improvement of the quality of life in the community, including related to healthy sanitation," he mentioned, on Tuesday (5/6).

Ali hopes that the program, which benefits religious communities, will continue systematically and massively to reach more places of worship, especially in South Jakarta.

He advised mosque administrators to disseminate this good program to ensure effective waste management, from ablution water to wastewater, in order to prevent environmental contamination.

"Essentially, this program becomes a historical milestone or a good momentum for all of us to provide benefits to the community," he expressed.

He added that the South Jakarta Government will also help disseminate this program to companies so they can assist in realizing healthy sanitation through corporate social responsibility (CSR) program.

"About 1,800 mosques and prayer rooms exist in South Jakarta. If their sanitation is managed well, it will certainly have a positive impact on environmental cleanliness and health," he said.

Prosperity Council Chairman of Masjid Raya Al Insan, Ari Kuncoro, expressed his appreciation for the mosque's inclusion in the healthy sanitation initiative.

"Following the direction of the Acting Deputy Mayor, I will disseminate this program to other mosque administrators in South Jakarta," he concluded.

On that occasion, Jakarta Baznas Bazis Chairman, Akhmad H. Abubakar, and Perumda Paljaya President Director, Untung Suryadi, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the continuation of the program.

At the same time, Jakarta Baznas Bazis also provided donations to mosque caretakers and assistance for mosque operational management.
