East Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency personnel are deployed to assist managing traffic at Pondok Gede Hajj Dormitory area, Pinang Ranti Urban Village, Makasar District.

East Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency's Operation Section Head, Riki Erwinda said 28 personnel are deployed to anticipate traffic congestion along with the increasing volume of vehicles of prospective Hajj pilgrims transiting at the Pondok Gede Hajj Dormitory.
"The personnel are divided into two shifts namely at 6:30 AM to 2 PM and 2 PM to 9 PM. Each shift has 13 personnel," he said, Wednesday (4/30).
He added that the personnel deployment will be run until all departures of prospective Hajj pilgrims are complete.
"Pondok Gede Hajj Dormitory is in heavy traffic area. Moreover, there is PAM Jaya's piping project," he added.
According to him, the personnel are deployed to assist managing traffic, preventing illegal parking, and utilization of technology such as Area Traffic Control System (ATCS) for real-time monitoring.
"We also prepare a towing truck in front of Pinang Ranti Bus Terminal to anticipate illegal parking or broke down car," he continued.
The personnel are deployed at Garuda Traffic Light or in front of Tamini Square, Jalan Pinang Ranti intersection, in front of Pinang Ranti Bus Terminal, and in front of the dormitory.
"Our personnel will join with East Jakarta Traffic Police Unit," he stated.
Meanwhile, one of the road users, Arie Pratika (43), admitted traffic congestion always occurs during the hajj season around the dormitory.
"Hopefully the personnel deployment will reduce the traffic congestion here," he admitted.
