Five Markets in Central Jakarta Safe from Hazardous Substances

Five traditional and modern markets in Central Jakarta underwent monitoring of food products and prices on Monday (3/24).

This aims to ensure that the food products sold are free from harmful substances

Central Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Sub-agency (KPKP) Head, Penty Yunesi Pudyastuti said the monitoring was focused on Hari Hari Supermarket, Gajah Mada Hypermart, Petojo Ilir Market, Petojo Enclek Market, and Cideng Thomas Market.

"This aims to ensure that the food products sold are free from harmful substances," she expressed, Monday (3/24).

From these markets, the officers checked 11 samples of agricultural products consisting of vegetables and fruits, then livestock products consisting of beef and chicken.

"As a result, they are safe from harmful substances and safe for consumption," she stressed.

 

They also monitored stock availability and price stability in the market. It was known that several commodities sold in traditional markets have experienced price increases, including chili and onions.

"Except chicken meat and beef, still stable," she stated.
